Overview
Flex Fitness Equipment (FLEX) supplies equipment to retail, semi-commercial, and commercial clients. This warranty policy outlines the terms for our products, which carry guarantees under New Zealand Consumer Law. Customers are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure.
Customer Responsibilities
- Ensure the product is suitable for your needs and that correct installation and maintenance procedures are followed.
- Ensure users handle products as intended.
- Conduct regular equipment audits to verify proper assembly and maintenance.
Warranty Coverage
Products sold by FLEX are covered by a manufacturer's warranty for structural integrity, provided the product is fit for its intended purpose. Unless otherwise stated, all products carry a 3-month manufacturer's warranty from the invoice date.
Warranty Exclusions
FLEX will repair, replace, or refund faulty or damaged items unless the issue arises from:
- Use not aligned with the product's intended purpose
- Normal or cosmetic wear and tear (e.g., plastics, grips, seats, paintwork)
- Misuse, incorrect installation, or incorrect assembly
- Improper storage
- Lack of or poor maintenance plan
- Expired warranty period
- No proof of purchase
- Damage during transport, abuse, neglect, or misapplication (e.g., domestic product used in a commercial environment)
- Altered, defaced, or removed serial numbers
- Damage from external causes (e.g., lightning, weather, or wartime environments)
Additional Notes
- New items added to our product range carry a default 3-month manufacturer's warranty unless specified otherwise.
- Warranty applies only to the original owner and is non-transferable.
- Warranty is void for commercial, institutional, or hire use unless a commercial warranty is issued.
- Equipment must be used and stored indoors in a dry, dust-free environment. Outdoor use or storage (e.g., garages, sheds, patios) voids the warranty.
- Regular servicing (at least annually or per manufacturer specifications) is required to maintain warranty validity.
- Lifetime warranties are valid for 5 years unless otherwise specified.
Warranty Claims Process
To lodge a warranty claim, follow these steps:
-
Submit a Claim: Use the service request form on our website or via email, providing:
- Invoice number and date
- Item name and description of the issue
- Relevant photos and videos
- Your contact information
- Assessment: An experienced service technician will review the claim.
- Testing: We may contact the manufacturer or test the product.
- Outcome: A senior manager and service technician will finalize the decision. For disputes, seek independent advice.
Note: Incomplete information may delay processing. Clear manufacturing defects will be escalated promptly.
False or Invalid Claims
False or invalid claims (e.g., out-of-warranty products, no valid receipt, normal wear and tear) incur a $50 fee per claim or $89 if a callout is required. Examples include:
- Wear and tear on rubber flooring from training
- Paint chips or scuffs on kettlebells
- Unmaintained treadmill motors or belts
- Spin bikes used in commercial settings when suited for home or PT use
- Wall balls misused by smashing against surfaces
Delivery and Assembly
- Where FLEX or subcontractors provide delivery and assembly, customers must inspect the installation and report issues immediately in writing.
- Customers are responsible for ensuring the equipment is suitable for their needs, securely bolted (e.g., dyna-bolted for racks in commercial settings), and capable of handling intended weight loadings.
- FLEX is responsible only for assembly, not maintenance post-installation.
- Standard delivery and assembly terms and conditions apply.
Maintenance Requirements
- Pre-Use Inspection: Check for loose bolts, frayed cables, or worn parts before operation. Tighten all hardware and replace damaged components.
- Post-Use Care: Clean and wipe down equipment to prevent rust or damage from perspiration.
- Initial Checks: After 1-2 hours of use, tighten all bolts and nuts. Periodically recheck to prevent damage or warranty voidance.
- Failure to follow manufacturer maintenance guidelines voids the warranty.
Additional Warranty Terms
- Return to Base: Warranty claims require products to be returned to our warehouse at the customer's expense unless otherwise stated.
- Onsite Service: Available in select areas for a $89/hr callout fee. Not available for products under $500. Refunds are offered only if FLEX fails to remedy a defect through repair or replacement.
- Proof of Purchase: A tax invoice is required for all claims.
- Indoor Use: Warranty is void if equipment is used or stored outdoors or in non-dry, dusty environments.
- Inspection on Delivery: Buyers must inspect goods and notify FLEX in writing of any defects, shortages, or damage within 3 days of delivery. No change-of-mind returns are accepted.
- Labor Costs: Warranty does not cover labor for removal, reinstallation, or diagnosis of repairs.
- Incidental Damages: FLEX is not liable for incidental or consequential damages from equipment use or inability to use it.
Weight Loadings
- Weight ratings are a guide only. Customers must test equipment to ensure it meets their needs and never exceed weight loadings.
- All equipment is sold "as is" per manufacturer specifications. FLEX does not manufacture equipment and is not liable for weight loading issues.
Exclusive Remedies
This warranty replaces all other warranties, expressed, implied, or statutory, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Buyers must pass this warranty to subsequent users and indemnify FLEX from claims based on additional warranties or representations. FLEX is not liable for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, whether based on contract, tort, or any other legal theory.

The ends of each rope are sealed and covered in a plastic coating. In some cases, due to heavy use the plastic coating can become dislodged which can easily be rectified by reinserting the coating onto the rope and affixing the hose clamp provided onto the top of the plastic coating. Secure the clamp and cover with electrical tape. • Check the hanging components regularly for any signs of wear and tear and replace as necessary to minimize risk of injury or further damages • Use only with the Armortech anchor point |

This will not affect the safety or functionality of the mat but it will cause slight permanent change to the size of the mat over time. This will be more evident in the thinner mats such as the 20mm models. This may affect you later down the track when adding new mats due to slight size variation in the jigsaw pattern. • Clean mats with a warm water, damp mop/cloth using a PH neutral disinfectant. • It is recommended that shoes not be worn on the mats as the rubber on the shoes will scratch and scuff the surface of the mat and cause cosmetic damage, sharp toenails can often scratch the surface as well. |
